Each year Bishop Kenrick Council assists in celebrating the service of our men and women in uniform. We provide the police, firemen, EMT and military with a special thank you... A Saint Michael the Archangel challenge coin with a special prayer requesting God to protect them.

Saint Francis Cabrini School
While I was visiting the school to discuss the Coats for Kids project, I asked the Principal and the Head of Maintenance If I could do a “needs survey”. The goal was to walk through the school and see where our council could be of help. We found several areas that needed to be addressed and settled on a very visible and high trafficked area, the Cafeteria/auditorium. This was a huge undertaking as the room had very high ceilings and some challenging areas that needed painting. Thank you to the following Knights who came out to help:
John Snyder
Bruce Fay
Tom Shannon
Tom Howard
Francis Vithayathil
I also contacted Joe DeBarbarie, the Bonner Baseball Coach and was able to get several volunteers from his team to help. Besides receiving Service Hours they received an insight about the mission of the Knights of Columbus. Several students expressed interest in joining once they turn 18. They were very greatly appreciated. We also picked up a new member Dennis Kelly who came out and volunteered.
The reaction of the faculty and staff as well as the school board was overwhelming. A couple of students came down and peeked and started jumping up and down with excitement. It is said, “In giving you receive.” Seeing these reactions certainly did our hearts good.

The dome blended in with the sign

Added detail to the roof of the dome

Sign was sanded and painted with a primer and then a red finished coat

Was able to prep metal and apply base coat. Letters an outline were trimmed in grey
